Bridging Lanterns

The Bridging Lanterns project is a multi-faceted effort involving community input, a celebratory event, and a lighting installation. The result would illuminate the dark underpass at Upper State street with dozens of suspended ‘lanterns’, each carrying the wish of a local resident or New Haven fan.

If you live in (or love on) New Haven, we want to hear from you. Tell us your wish! Your aspirations will become part of a collective project to brighten one of New Haven’s forgotten connection corridors.

All donations raised for this project will be matched by The Could Be Fund!

Intersection to Connection

The Intersection project is a placemaking and downtown improvement effort in New Haven which focuses on the reimagining of the Chapel Street bridge and adjacent intersections.

Initiated by Town Green District, the project aims to increase the walk-appeal connectivity, and safety of this important entry point into Downtown New Haven. The corner of Chapel and State will be enlivened with public art, landscaping, color, and light.

An expansive community engagement process behind the project has thus far included input from local residents, merchants, property owners, commuters and city officials.
